Canterbury Health Laboratories annually invites laboratory representatives from around New Zealand to participate in their User Group meeting.

Over the years the meeting has moved from a predominately scientific focus to recently becoming more aligned to management of, and discussion surrounding the industry.

Delegates represent several different areas including:

• Representatives from laboratories who refer samples to CHL for analysis
• Course leaders from the tertiary institutions currently providing BMLSc qualification
• Significant external customers
• Health representatives such as; Ministry of Health, CDHB & Christchurch Hospital representatives

Future meetings are constantly under review however comments gathered from recent attendees indicates a need for this type of meeting within the medical laboratory science industry in New Zealand.
