Interpretation

Anti-nuclear Antibodies - titre
Negative ANA usually rules out (99% sensitive using the 1982 ACR Classification Criteria) a diagnosis of SLE although anti Ro positive SLE patients may be negative. See comments on result reports regarding ANA patterns.

Additional Information

Positive ANA screens are always titred.
